Hospice… a special way of caring for people with a terminal illness.

Services include:

• Home visits by RN’s
• Home Health Aides for assistance with personal care
• Social worker assistance
• Volunteer services for respite, etc.
• Medical equipment and supplies: hospital bed, oxygen, etc.
• Medication for pain and symptoms related to terminal illness
• Special 8-24 hour care in a crisis or at the time of imminent death
• Bereavement follow up for up to 13 months after death

How we are different than other Hospices:

• We are the first hospice in Manitowoc County – Since 1984, headquartered in Manitowoc.

• We are locally owned and operated, guaranteeing a quick response time when a nurse is needed, regardless of the time of day, as all of our nurses live in Manitowoc County. Average response time is always less than 30 mins. (Phone Response: less than 15 min / Visits Needed: Less than 30 mins). LOCAL STAFF!

• Minimal Turnover! Most staff have many years of service!

• More Care. Hospice Aide (CNA) care ranging from daily to multiple times per day, when needed. We always do weekly RN visits in the beginning when others don’t. We make a visit when other’s don’t.

• Our Caseload Ratio between nurse and patient is much less than competitors. Sensible and logical.

• Continuity of Care. (We have other services that a patient could be admitted to prior to hospice. Creates ability to keep the same nurse and contacts.) Private pay support available via our private duty company –Manitowoc Homecare.

• We provide the client with needed medical equipment and supplies, including but not limited to: depends, toothettes, pericare wipes, medications, hospital bed, oxygen, wheelchair, commode, and much more.

• End-of-life closure goals: We help patients and families whether it means going to a special game or fishing trip, or making amends with an estranged family member.
